2.53: Describe the Role of Phloem in Transporting Sucrose and Amino Acids Between the Leaves and Other Parts of the Plant

PHLOEM: Tube system that transports organic compounds (Sucrose and Amino acids) from Sources to Sinks via Translocation

  • Source: Where organic compounds are synthesised (photosynthetic tissue - leaves)
  • Sinks: Where organic compounds are delivered to for use or for storage (roots, fruits and seeds)
